Hyphoon for iOS (the “App”) is a tire pressure monitoring companion app for compatible Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) sensors. This Privacy Policy explains what information the App accesses, how it is used and stored, when it may leave the device, and the choices available to users.

01 / Summary

Privacy at a Glance

The current iOS App:

  • does not require an account;
  • does not contain advertising, analytics, attribution, or cross-app tracking SDKs;
  • does not sell personal information;
  • stores vehicle settings, sensor bindings, tire readings, activity records, alert state, and optional parking locations locally on the device;
  • does not automatically upload TPMS, vehicle, parking, or diagnostic data to a server operated by the developer; and
  • exports a diagnostic report only when the user deliberately chooses to share it and selects a destination through the iOS share sheet.

02 / Data

Information Processed by the App

2.1 TPMS sensor information

To monitor compatible tire sensors, the App scans for and receives nearby BLE advertisements. Depending on the sensor, the App may process:

  • the identifier broadcast by the sensor;
  • tire pressure and temperature;
  • sensor battery voltage and status values;
  • signal strength (RSSI);
  • raw or decoded packet contents and reception timestamps; and
  • the vehicle and wheel position to which the sensor is assigned.

The App uses this information to display readings, evaluate tire alerts, maintain recent reading history, support widgets and compatible CarPlay displays, and diagnose sensor reception. This information is stored locally and is not automatically uploaded to the developer.

2.2 Vehicle, settings, and activity information

The App stores information entered or selected by the user, such as vehicle names, vehicle types, wheel positions, pressure and temperature limits, measurement units, notification and voice preferences, sensor assignments, and App activity or alert records. This information remains on the device.

Users should avoid entering unnecessary personal information in free-text vehicle names or diagnostic notes.

2.3 Optional parking location

Parking Location is optional. The App requests Location When In Use only after the user chooses to save a parking location or use a related navigation feature. A saved parking record may include coordinates, accuracy, time, and an available address description.

The App does not continuously track location, does not request Always Location access, and does not use TPMS reception to build a location history.

When iOS resolves an address or the user opens navigation, Apple or the selected map provider may process location information under its own privacy policy. The developer does not automatically receive that information.

2.4 Camera information

Camera access is used only when the user chooses to scan a sensor QR code. Camera frames are processed to recognize the sensor code. The App does not save photos or videos and does not upload camera content. Users may enter a sensor identifier manually instead.

2.5 Notifications, sounds, and voice alerts

The App uses local notifications, sounds, and optional on-device voice alerts to present tire warnings and monitoring status. Notification preferences and alert state are stored locally. The current version does not use a developer-operated remote push notification service.

2.6 Background Bluetooth monitoring

When monitoring is enabled, the App may use iOS background Bluetooth capabilities to continue receiving compatible sensor broadcasts where iOS permits it. Background reception depends on iOS scheduling, Bluetooth state, radio conditions, and sensor behavior. Granting Bluetooth access does not guarantee reception of every sensor packet.

These background mechanisms are used only to provide tire monitoring and do not upload information to the developer.

2.7 Optional diagnostic reports

Diagnostic tools are hidden by default and must be enabled by the user. A diagnostic session may record raw TPMS packets, sensor identifiers, signal strength, timestamps, App foreground or background state, Bluetooth scan and lifecycle events, iOS device information, and App version. Capture stops after the selected duration or after 5,000 packets.

Diagnostic files remain on the device unless the user explicitly exports or shares them. The user selects the receiving app, service, or person. If a report is voluntarily sent to the developer for support, it is used only to investigate the reported issue and retained only as long as reasonably necessary to resolve or document the request, unless a longer period is required by law.

03 / System access

iOS Permissions and Their Purposes

Permission wording may vary by iOS version.

Permission or capabilityHow the App uses it
BluetoothFinds compatible BLE tire sensors and receives pressure, temperature, battery, and status broadcasts.
CameraScans a sensor QR code when the user chooses QR binding. Photos and videos are not saved.
Location When In UseSaves a parking location only when the user requests it or uses the related navigation feature. The App does not request Always Location access.
NotificationsShows local tire warnings and monitoring information.
Background BluetoothKeeps user-enabled tire monitoring active where iOS permits it.

Users can deny or revoke optional permissions in iOS Settings. Disabling a permission may prevent the related feature from working. Bluetooth access is necessary for live TPMS monitoring; Camera and Parking Location are optional.

04 / Retention

Local Storage and Retention

Vehicle information, sensor assignments, settings, activity records, alert state, parking locations, and tire-reading history are stored in the App’s private local storage or an Apple-provided App Group used by the App and its widget. Reading history is limited to recent readings per wheel for performance. Diagnostic capture is separately limited as described above.

Local information is retained until the user deletes the related vehicle or saved information, or uninstalls the App. Deleting a vehicle removes its sensor assignments, tire readings, activity records, active alerts, and saved parking location from the App.

Uninstalling the App normally removes local information, subject to iCloud, device backup, or restoration settings controlled by the user or Apple. Information voluntarily sent to the developer for support is deleted when no longer reasonably needed to resolve or document the request, unless applicable law requires longer retention.

05 / Sharing

When Information May Leave the Device

The developer does not sell personal information and does not share information for targeted advertising or cross-app tracking.

Information may leave the device only when:

  • the user asks iOS or a map provider to resolve or navigate to a parking location;
  • the user deliberately exports or shares a diagnostic report;
  • the user voluntarily contacts support and includes information in the request;
  • disclosure is reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect safety, prevent misuse, or defend legal rights; or
  • a future App version introduces a new service that is first described in an updated policy and, where required, presented for consent.

Apple may independently process App Store, installation, purchase, device, or diagnostic information under Apple’s own terms and privacy policies. That platform processing is not data automatically sent by the App to the developer’s servers.

06 / Protection

Security

The App relies on iOS security controls and stores App information in platform-protected local storage. Diagnostic files are shared through iOS mechanisms only after a user action. No storage or transmission method can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Users should protect access to their devices and review the destination before sharing a diagnostic report.

07 / Age

Children’s Privacy

The App is a vehicle-maintenance utility and is not directed to children under 13 or the minimum age required by applicable local law. The developer does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

08 / Control

User Choices and Privacy Rights

Users can:

  • deny or revoke optional permissions in iOS Settings;
  • disable Parking Location, notifications, voice alerts, or background monitoring;
  • delete a vehicle and its associated local information;
  • uninstall the App to remove local information; and
  • contact the developer regarding a diagnostic report or other information previously sent to support.

Depending on applicable law, users may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to the processing of information they voluntarily sent to the developer. Requests may be sent to support@hyphoon.tech. Sufficient information may be required to locate and verify a request.

Because the App has no user accounts and no developer-operated cloud storage for App data, the developer normally cannot retrieve, view, or remotely delete information that exists only on a user’s device.

09 / Regions

International Processing

The App may be used in multiple countries. Information voluntarily sent to the developer may be processed in the country where Xiangsheng Li or the developer's support service providers operate, subject to applicable law and appropriate safeguards.

10 / Updates

Changes to This Policy

The developer may update this Privacy Policy when App functionality, platform requirements, or legal obligations change. The effective date will be updated and, when appropriate, notice will be provided in the App, on the Hyphoon website, or in the Apple App Store listing.
